1500hp+ / 4 Rotor Lexus GS - Block your eyes before they bleed >> SPOTLIGHT

Block your ears and keep watching, this Lexus GS is the epitome of horsepower and creative madness, a car - a machine which in the field just about beating out the everyone in "WTAC Drift Challange" and its screams via a Curran Bros built quad rotor with a turbo on it that quite frankly would look more as demo car for them more than an active masterpiece. Hardly believable that you could take this deafening machine on a truck without getting arrested, it sure to put a smile and make you shout to communicate with the person standing next to you also as a bonus its a flame emitting show.

‘FATBOY DRIFT’ you must see in person to truly appreciate. It is an absolute attack on senses. From the ear bleeding noise of the turbo 4 rotor to the 15 foot flames puking from his pipes to the fact that this is all happening from a big luxury VIP sedan that was never intended to do anything like this. All of this adds up to an experience like no other.

RWB AE86 - The start of Rauh-Welt

Akira Nakai got his start in a very different scene. A member of the Rough World drift crew in Japan, Nakai started out modifying and drifting the iconic AE86. It was during this time that he began to make a name for himself in the tuning world.

Don't have much specific info on this car but pullouts from a mag below for more keen eye people.

PHONE STUFF FROM BLOG....

BBS ads from yesteryear...

In 1972, BBS pioneered the development of a three-piece racing wheel, a revolution in motorsport design. Most recently BBS has engineered the Air Inside Technology where hollow chambers are created within the wheel structure to compensate for the small air volume in modern ultra-low-profile tyres, reduce unsprung weight, improve handling dynamics, and increase fuel efficiency without sacrificing strength and rigidity. This innovation earned BBS Kraftfahrzeugtechnik the Automechanika Innovation Award 2006 in the tuning segment.
Undeniable corrolation with European and mainly german scene it has deeper history than many thought.. some classic photos pulled from catalougue and ex ads.

Courrèges Wheels - Unique rare kyusha wheels from a designer

The French fashion designer André Courrèges' take on Kei-sized alloy wheels.. with a couple advertisements from 1983-1986 - what very likely seems to have been their heyday. The whole series of ads are about as ridiculous as they come.. and (luckily for me) easy to spot when flicking through magazines, due to their thorough use of the signature colours.. the white, pink and blue...

Produced in collaboration with Yamaco more than 30 years ago, today it is hard to see any of the futurism that Courrèges designs were so well known for. There is however, certainly something timeless about their unique style. I am totally in love with them, and may have decided that the Courrèges wheel line-up represents everything that is awesome about kyusha shoes.

The Courrèges wheels themselves were produced and sold by Yamaco Corporation. In its early years, Yamaco had a very close relationship with Enkei, and together a collaborative wheel line called “Silver Star”. From 1968 into the mid eighties, Enkei did the metal work, and Yamaco looked after marketing and sales of Silver Star wheels. Unlike the Silver Star line up however, which has Enkei (and no Yamaco) markings on hub pads, the Courrèges line-up looks to be all Yamaco.

CLASSIC SSR JDM WHEELS AND RETRO ADVERTS...

What can I say about SSR Formula Mesh other than being one of legend JDM Wheels of all time. Produced in the 80’s The SSR was simple 2 piece wheel, with a mesh face bolted with 20 bolts in to a welded barrel with a stepped lip. Speed Star Racing also made the SSR MK I, SSR MK II and SSR MK III wheels as pictured; thier classic JDM wheel line wich introduces the 3 piece wheel. Also pictured is the SSR Star Formula, a 6 spoke race inspired wheel. JDM Wheels – SSR Formula Mesh, SSR Star Formula, SSR MK I, SSR MK II, SSR MK III

The SSR MKI was the original Speed Star Racing wheel with a flat face and no spokes or holes. The SSR MKII has a classic 4 spoke sqaured spoke design. The SSR MKIII has a design similar to the MKII, but with smaller spokes between the bigger 4. The SSR Star Formula had a pointh 6 spoke design ith polished front face and painted accents. The SSR Defi Challenge Fin aka SSR Defi are one of the most Coveted JDM Wheels of all time. The SSR Defi are a directional fin type wheel made by SSR Wheels aka Speedstar Racing. The SSR Defi Challenge Fin features the SSR Electron Lock system made popular on the SSR EX-C Fin, SSR EX-C Mesh the Racing Hart Super Fin and many other JDM Wheels. Pictured are the SSR Defi on a Z10 Toyota Soarer and a second generation Honda Prelude.
